Steamy, sexy read

Pirates in space are just as sexy as the pirates at sea.

Jacquelyn Marcone aka Captain Jack earned her reputation in the Marcone family as one of most talented captains. Crew fight to serve under her. Most think Captain Jack is a male and she does nothing to convince them otherwise. Unfortunately for her, Pirate Haydrian is gunning for her and thinks she's a man.

The case of hidden identity is amusing and pivotal for this plot to work. Initially to keep Jack safe, keeping the deception was the best choice. As Jack learns more about Haydrian, it isn't so black and white for her anymore. The story does pull on the heartstrings of many. It's understandable what Haydrian does. However, the comparison to Robin Hood is a fail for me. The good people of Nottingham were being taxed to death. Haydrian's people were not taxed to death. Still, there are many parallels.

This story is a lovely science fiction fantasy piece where the lines of good and evil are blurred. When a civilization is decimated by war, famine and disease, what does a leader do to survive? Haydrian makes some hard decisions after every avenue is closed off to him for aid. His people desperately need medicine. He'll gladly turn criminal and steal medicine to save lives. Captain Jack thwarted him too many times and Haydrian is going to make him pay.

The characters in this story are delightful and engaging. Jack is stubborn yet yields in screaming sexual submission. Haydrian is a tough and caring Dom who is weighed down by heavy responsibilities. They are a good match for each other and Ms. Michaels does an admirable job of showing it. The chemistry is definitely there between the two and when it clashes into hawt erotic sex, it's explosive.

The BDSM scenes in this story are steamy goodness with spankings and forced orgasms. The flogging and nipple clamps are added delights. The BDSM is light and more about the sex than the D/s portion. All of it is arousing and gives this story a 3.5 star rating.

This kinky science fiction/fantasy tale is for those who love the tarnished knight.

A swashbuckling romance with a space twist, and a heavy dose of erotic spice; Her Pirate Master is part of a larger series by Trista Ann Michaels but stands alone beautifully.

Captain Jacquelyn "Jack" Marcone is taken hostage by Haydrian Victis, who's known throughout the solar system as an infamous pirate. Haydrian has no idea that the woman he's kidnapped is Captain Jack Marcone, but he does think he can trade her for Jack. The chemistry between Jack and Haydrian is off the charts, they push and pull and she surrenders to him beautifully. Haydrian is a pirate and a Dom and Jack wants to submit badly even when she can't help but defy the man who kidnapped her. This story reminds me of the books I started romance on, stories of strong heroines who fight against love and life with arrogant heroes that are so hot and dominant they seduce the heroines into their beds.

The world building is well done, I could easily see this as a movie or miniseries, it played like that in my head. I could see the images, the ship, the bleak darkness of space and then Haydrian's home world ravaged by war.

The sex is off the charts and very inventive. I loved the way that Jack gave in to him and just let herself enjoy and Haydrian's softer gentler side made me sigh happily. I recommend this space romance for lovers of dominant gentle pirates and the heroines strong enough to love them.

Instead, he plies the waters of the mundane, relating the stories he finds there. He ranges from the off-the-wall (a 1970 exchange of letters between Elvis Presley and President Nixon) to troubling social comment (the male crowd in a bar gleefully firing water-filled automatic rifles at seminude women). At his best, however, he goes straight for the heart (a child's letter to her dead grandfather and a father's futile attempts to secure a job for his unemployed son). While he often deals with the seemingly trivial, Greene has a knack for revealing far greater truths. Recommended for all public libraries.

Poor Quality

The information in the book is terrific, if you can keep the book together. This book is junk compared to previous additions. The pages fall right out, everyone in my class is experiencing the same problem. This is a book a student is going to want to keep, but can't because it is so poorly made.

Canadian VS American Editions

This is a great learning tool for the student or at home learner. BE AWARE that there are two different editions....one for the Canadian Market and one for the American Market. The Canadian version has a lime with a spoon of lime zest on the front cover. The American one is the artichoke. There are differences in the submitted recipies i.e. from Canadian Chefs

Excellent text for basic skills.

Although I was also disappointed that the book did not come with the CD, I have found it a great read with a wealth of useful information presented in an organized, easy to read fashion. This is a staple book used in culinary programs, and I will be keeping this book long after I graduate. I have recommended it to friends who want to learn to be better cooks without going to school for it. The chef who is teaching one of my culinary classes told us that if you only have two books on cooking, he'd recommend this one and The Joy of Cooking. Another great feature of this book is that the pages are coated (that's what makes the book so incredibly heavy) so that they last longer when you inevitably spill something on them while using the book in the kitchen. I agree that a spiral binding might have been a better choice but I have mostly found the book will lay flat no matter where you need it kept open to.

Important book on an important subject

This book is written for physicists. Some of the information is more broadly accessible, especially some of the figures. I especially like Fig. 3.1 on pg. 123.

The author does not discriminate against experimental results that he cannot explain, and this is a plus. Many potential mechanisms are discussed.

Ideally it would be more accessible. The description of gauge symmetry is obviously gratuitous.

The price is high, but there's not much out there to compete with it.
The Handbook of Biological Effects of Electromagnetic Fields is more accessible, but is mostly prejudiced in favor of the current safety standards.

Lydiard Explained

This is an excellent book on training and the implementation of the Lydiard program. This book is a very useful training guide but it also offers a history lesson that is very important. How did we get here? What has worked? And what is the underlying principle that guides all training for distance runners? Train the body to do what you are going to ask it to do. Aerobic conditioning. I also read Dan Coyle's "The Talent Code" and found the juxtapostion of these two books remarkable. I liked the fact that D. Livingstone (a chiropractor) is a runner(who over trained) and a coach (who works with all age groups). I found this book very readable and enlightening.

Healthy Intelligent Training by Keith Livingstone is simply awesome.

As far as I am concerned, it is the best book written about the Lydiard method of training. Healthy Intelligent Training is written 'layman' enough for those who do not want to be weighed down with heavy scientific tech-speak. However, the book provides enough scientific reference to provide credibility from the technical end of the perspective; the reader gets the best of both worlds.

Should you prefer case studies that are not done in a lab over 3 weeks under controlled circumstances, but examples provided from 10, 20 and 30 year careers - Olympic accomplishments and just outstanding results, then Keith writes it out so everyone gets their fill of what they need to better understand the Arthur Lydiard method of training and physiologically speaking the method matches what the body is meant to do - move!

Although the book is said to be geared towards serious middle-distance runners. I highly recommend this book for anyone wanting to train to their optimum for middle and long distance, right up to the marathon.

An Outstanding .. How To Do It Text!

Having started my professional career as a physical education teacher being responsible for training track athletes in high schools in Australia, England and South Africa, I definitely could have used Keith Livingstone's amazing book. Outstanding athletes need a well directed program of training that will get them to the top.

During my days of teaching and coaching in the 1960's and 1970's, New Zealand athletes were the trend setters.

Moving from training athletes to caring for athletes, after retraining as a Chiropractor in Canada in the mid 1970's, I now see how knowledge of what Keith Livingstone explains in his book would have made me a better Chiropractor for the athletes I cared for.

If you teach or coach athletes or you are a practitioner who cares for athletes I highly recommend you purchase this book.
