Everything you need to know about guinea fowl.

Honestly when I picked up this book I couldn't tell you what a guinea fowl was, when I started reading I learned that I knew all along just by a different name- pheasant. I live in a semi rural area where people do keep poultry. I found this book fascinating. Marks covered everything I could dream up about Guinea Fowls. His information was straight to the point and included pictures. He starts with the history of the guinea fowl and talks about what it takes to keep them cost wise, space wise, and materials wise. He enlightened me on the predators of them, collecting eggs, breeding and so much more. If you are looking to keep guinea fowls this book will be a great support for you, if you just want to learn more this book has a mass amount of information and I was very impressed.

I bought this book as a birthday present for my uncle, and he hasn't put it down since he got it. From someone who likes to read up on everything there is to know about raising Guinea fowl, this complete Owners Guide is one of the best endorsement you can ever get, when it comes to taking care of, feeding, health, breeding and more! There are photos throughout this complete owners guide.

The sections of the book include Their health as to first aid, diseases etc, a breakdown of behavioral issues, wing clipping and parasites. Definitely this is a must own manual.

My favorite part about this book is that it’s not only informative and insightful, but also written in a very engaging and easy to understand manner that, for me personally, made the overall read just as enjoyable and entertaining as it was educational. As well as this, it is clear to me that the author truly has a passion for wildlife and it shows through the enthusiastic tone of the writing style. I can’t say that I plan on rearing any birds anytime soon, but I certainly feel much more competent towards the notion than I was prior to this read!

Awesome layman's commentary

Dr Wiersbe's Bible Exposition Commentary of the NT is a superb commentary set of the NT. His writing is supremely readable and easy to understand. He discusses many controversial topics that are pertinent to today's society and gives good references for his ideas. Wiersbe teaches from a conservative Scriptural basis, but is not unduly literal. Wiersbe covers an amazing amount of information within these two volumes. I use these more frequently than any other commentary set that I own. He adds history and some lexical analysis where it counts to help the reader understand key Biblical concepts. I currently own these and the BE commentary on the Pentateuch. I can't wait to complete my set.

While we use the word "layman" to describe the commentary, it is useful for people of all levels of knowledge and application. I use it frequently in my pursuit of my seminary masters degree.

Great convenience

An ominous paragraph on one of the publisher-added front pages of this facsimile edition warns that the book is being republished because of its cultural value despite the possibility that some pages may have reproduced badly, even to the point of illegibility. That must be a series-wide warning. Fortunately, there were no such problems with the text used for this title. Occasionally it may be hard to make out the breathings/accents combinations (or is that my aging eyes?), but basically the entries are perfectly legible.

It's a great convenience having a lexicon limited to only the vocabulary used in Herodotus' Histories. It saves a great amount of time compared to flapping through LSJ. The translations seem to make the effort to reflect the root meanings of the words as well as providing a more supple English synonym. I appreciate that.

I purchased the hard-bound edition, thinking it would be more durable. No doubt. But it's a little stiff, and, frankly, this lexicon will never see as much use as the general lexicon. So I think the paper-bound edition is probably the better value.

Best New Moms and Grandmas book

I checked this book out from the library and had to have one for my daughters.
I found that it have everything we needed to know at a quick look. Pictures were so helpful. For a first time mom and a grandmother to learn and know the answers again,it was great.

The only book I needed

I read a few other books during my pregnancy and the baby's 1st year, but this was my favorite and I was glad to have it on my shelf as a comprehensive reference. It is complete but concise and I liked the tone in which it was written: not too clinical or judgemental sounding, but caring, helpful, and factual. It was written by multiple medical professionals specializing in pediatric medicine so I trusted the information. The way it is organized and the index are very helpful. I also really appreciated the plentiful color photographs and charts throughout. They offer some tips on sleep training that I found helpful. I wished it contained a little more detail on breastfeeding, and weaning in particular. I've also read their toddler book, which is similarly helpful. My baby's now 16 months old, and I think this book helped us start out on the right foot.

I purchased this book as a gift for a first time Mom. The book was very informative with many tips and information about caring for a new infant. I would not have thought of many of the suggestions the book contained, and believe it will be a useful tool. I sure wish they had a similar one when I had a child many years ago.

Kendis Moore Drake mother, RN, FNP and Olympian When Kendis began caring for pregnant women 22 years ago, she tried to find a concise, easy-to-read book that would help educate her patients about their pregnancies. No such book existed, so Kendis wrote this book to help expectant mothers understand the wonderful process of pregnancy and delivery. Kendis graduated magna cum laude from Arizona State University with both her Bachelor s of Science degree and Master s Degree in Nursing. Kendis is a former world record holder in swimming and Olympic team member. She continues to enjoy sports and caring for patients today, while expanding her practice to include gynecology and women's health.

A Must For The Planning-To-Be-A-Mom

I purchased this book as a gift for a friend's daughter who had just learned she was expecting her first baby. When I received the book, I glanced through it and was immediately intrigued. Since over 50 years have passed since my own pregnancy I wound up reading the entire book! Oh! Would I have loved to have had all this information 50 years ago!! After giving the book to the daughter I received a phone call from her. She was ecstatic! She said she felt as though a cloud had been lifted from the ritual of child birth and, because of this book, she felt she was in control and could look forward to what was ahead of her and she could enjoy her 'adventure'. Thank you Kendis Moore Drake!

You must get this book of you-or someone you know- are pregnant!!!

I received Preparing for a Healthy Baby from my OBGYN when I was pregnant with my first child. I loved it so much I gave my only copy to my sister, who after carrying it with her for two pregnancies can't seem to find it. I was desperate to find a copy of the book again now that I am pregnant with my second. This book answered all the millions of questions I had and let me, and my husband, and my doctor get some sleep at night. It was easy to read and find the exact section I was looking for. I was so glad I found this on Amazon I bought four copies for my sister, cousins, and myself. You should not have a baby with out having this book at your fingertips.

Get this book- Guys can understand it!

I was the one that purchased this book for my wife after seeing all the novel-length books she brought home from the book store. Way too much reading! We have used Preparing for a Healthy Baby more than any other book we bought! It's so simple to understand and even a guy like me can get through it- and remember it! It has been a total lifesaver with our first pregnancy and I would recommend that all Dad's-to-be buy this book NOW! It's great to be able to quickly find out what is going on with Mommy and Baby with just the flip of a few pages! If you and your wife are expecting, you must get this book-maybe two copies, one for each of you!

The book develops a new approach to the study of the role of the military in divided societies by examining military institutions from three intertwined angles: first, as major arenas for social coexistence and conflict; second, as actors that are involved in politics but are also affected by political processes; and third, as actors that promote the process of state formation. This comprehensive look at Lebanon will inform the discussion of other divided societies, such as Afghanistan and Iraq, that face the dual challenge of restoring the political system and the security sector after state failure and intrastate conflict.

Just finished this a few weeks ago and I must recommend this book for anyone interested in this nations conflicts and military. This book covers the begining of this nation military to the most recent operations aganist terroist organization in this country. What I liked the most was this nation military conducting operation now along the board with Isreal. As part of a UN ceasr fire agreement between terroist organizations.
