Very useful for the anesthesia oral exam.
By Kirk Shelley
This is a long overdue review of this book considering I have been recommending this book to my residents for years. I believe this textbook can be very useful when preparing for the anesthesia oral exam. The information is presented in a way that is very close to what examiners are looking for; an algorithmic approach with detailed footnotes. Also note this is a fourth edition that is always a good sign for a textbook.

From Publishers Weekly
Caldecott Medalist McCully (Mirette on the High Wire) spins an engrossing, fact-based tale with feminism and fair labor practices at its heart. Ten-year-old Rebecca supplements her family's meager income by toiling as a "bobbin girl" in 1830s New England. She is one of the thousands of girls and women who endure 131/2-hour days in the stuffy textile mills of Lowell, Mass., the City of Spindles. Rebecca sees first-hand the courage of her co-workers, who all share a dream of building a better life with the money they earn. She also observes the illnesses, injuries and anxiety caused by the harsh conditions and callous mill owners. When a decrease in wages is announced, the mill girls rally to stage a "turn out" (strike) and protest their predicament. McCully deftly weaves feminist themes into her spirited text, and her meaty author's note places her story in context. Her characters speak of self-reliance and education; they read and attend lectures whenever possible. The courage and ambition these role models inspire in Rebecca are palpable. Rough-edged watercolors, frequently awash in gray light, convey the often oppressive mood of an industrial town of the time. The shawled and bonneted women and an abundance of other period details add further historical depth. Ages 6-9.

From School Library Journal
Grade 2-4?This tale of child labor, early efforts to organize against unfair employers, and human courage is based on the true story of Harriet Hanson Robinson, whose mother ran a mill boardinghouse in 19th-century Lowell, MA. It tells of Rebecca Putney, a 10-year-old bobbin girl who follows the lead of an older firebrand and walks out of the textile mill in protest of a pay cut. The house provides the context to move the plot because it's there that the women talk about their goals and conditions. McCully's straightforward narrative is told in the third person with substantial dialogue. The artwork, realistic watercolors, supports the narrative but does little to move the story forward. Though crowd scenes offer opportunities for drama, the composition is somewhat static. Not all of the human figures are well-rendered. Some spreads are compelling, as in the after-dinner hours when the women sit around the fire, one wearily soaking her feet. Another striking scene shows one woman's collapse in the hazy spinning room. Despite Rebecca's central position in the narrative, she is primarily an observer and reporter and never really comes to life. Though this entry offers a valuable slice of history and will be useful for curriculum support, it lacks vitality of its own.?Carolyn Noah, Central Mass. Regional Library System, Worcester, MA

From Booklist
Gr. 3^-5, younger for reading aloud. When her mother's income from the boardinghouse no longer covers their expenses, 10-year-old Rebecca helps out by working as a bobbin girl at the local textile mill. The young women who board with Mrs. Putney endure the mill's bad air, loud machinery, high injury rate, and low wages in the hope of improving their lot, but when the mill owners threaten to lower their wages, the mill workers stage a "turnout," refusing to work. Although the protest fails, young Rebecca is proud of doing the right thing and vows to carry on the struggle. A Lowell, Massachusetts, textile mill in the 1830s may be an unlikely setting for a picture book, even one for older readers, but McCully weaves historical facts and fictional characters into an intriguing story. The author's note details the background, incidents, and people who inspired the book. Beautifully composed watercolor paintings give a vivid impression of America in the 1830s and bring the period to life. A useful book for history units. Carolyn Phelan

It’s been three years, twenty-five weeks, and five days since Isis Blake fell in love, and if she has it her way, it’ll stretch into infinity. Since then, she’s punched Jack Hunter―her nemesis-turned-maybe-something-more―in the face, survived a brutal attack by her mom’s abusive ex thanks to Jack’s heroics, and then promptly forgotten all about him.

The one bright spot for Isis is Sophia, the ephemeral girl who shares Isis’s hospital stay as well as a murky past with Jack. But as Isis’s memories return, she finds it harder and harder to resist what she felt for Jack, and Jack finds it impossible to stay away from the only girl who’s ever melted the ice around his heart.

As the dark secrets surrounding Sophia emerge, Isis realizes Jack isn’t who she thought he was. He’s dangerous. But when Isis starts receiving terrifying emails from an anonymous source, that danger might be the only thing protecting her from something far more threatening.

Her past.

Great book Two of Three
By Dorothy
As a casual connoisseur of the romantic trilogy, I have learned that the second book needs to keep the hero and heroine apart. That's what happens in this book. People are saying Isis and Jack have too few scenes together in Savage Delight. Meh. It's still great. Isis has some stuff she needs to work out while her head trauma heals, so we take a lot of time in this book to give her some opportunities to talk to people, to open herself up a little the way an only child is reluctant to do, and to unravel some mysteries we heard vaguely about in the first book. We hear more from her college application results, her father, lovable Wren, the principal, her mother and, interestingly, Sophia. It's all fun to read (sometimes it's sad) and told in Isis's irreverent, snappy voice. Look forward to book 3.

Great second book!
By KMS1979
I really enjoyed Savage Delight, it was a great continuation of the story that began in Lovely Vicious. The only thing I would like to see is a little bit more of Isis's backstory without it being broken up so much as it sometimes makes it hard to grasp early plot clues. There are times I recognize the plot clue as a plot clue but it isn't until a few chapters later that enough past details are released that it becomes clear that it really was a plot clue, not just my imagination.

Isis continues throughout the story as our loquacious heroine that hooked us int Lovely Vicious. Her interior monologues (or in most cases, not completely interior monologues) continue to be a great source of entertainment and originality. Jack Hunter's personality further develops also.

I don't want to give too much away so I'll stop here, but there will be a third book and I already am jittery waiting for it!

Savage Delight
By Morris
Liked book two just as much as book one. I can't wait to find out how this all ends with the final installment. I've been lamenting on how Wolf will close all the doors and if all the questions I have will be answered.

The writing is just the same as it was in the previous book and I'm glad that it is. It still sounds and reads like there is more than one person writing but I'd have to guess that this is just how this author writes. I've never read writing like this before and its pretty darn sweet! Especially coming from one person with like, eight personalities. Awesome!

We still get another cliffhanger and it sucked! This also starts where the previous book left off and we are still getting Jacks POV's once in awhile but more frequently. I kind of wish we would have just started getting his from the get go but whatever. I'll suffice. Also the plot is still cloaked throughout the book making it that much more unpredictable. Thank you Wolf! For once I solved this right before it happened and not right off the bat! I finished late last night and needed to catch a catnap before my kids got up so I haven't got to dive into book three and its killing me. Alas, it will happen at some point today and hopefully I shall conquer that in one day too!. Anyways... I would recommend to 18+ it does have rape and other unmentionables so be aware.

The Withered Arm and Other Stories (Penguin Classics), by Thomas Hardy

So Rhoda Brook, the abandoned mistress of Farmer Lodge, is jealous to discover details of his new bride in 'The Withered Arm', the title story in this selection of Hardy's finest short stories. Hardy's first story, 'Destiny and a Blue Cloak' was written fresh from the success of Far From the Madding Crowd. Beautiful in their own right, these stories are also testing-grounds for the novels in their controversial sexual politics, their refusal of romance structures, and their elegiac pursuit of past, lost loves.

Several of the stories in The Withered Arm were collected to form the famous volume, Wessex Tales (1888), the first time Hardy denoted "Wessex" to describe his fictional world. The Withered Arm is the first of a new two-volume selection of Hardy's short stories, edited with an introduction and notes by Kristin Brady.

About the Author
Thomas Hardy (1840-1928) immortalized the site of his birth—Egdon Heath, in Dorset, near Dorchester—in his writing. Delicate as a child, he was taught at home by his mother before he attended grammar school. At sixteen, Hardy was apprenticed to an architect, and for many years, architecture was his profession; in his spare time, he pursued his first and last literary love, poetry. Finally convinced that he could earn his living as an author, he retired from architecture, married, and devoted himself to writing. An extremely productive novelist, Hardy published an important book every year or two. In 1896, disturbed by the public outcry over the unconventional subjects of his two greatest novels—Tess of the D’Urbervilles and Jude the Obscure—he announced that he was giving up fiction and afterward produced only poetry. In later years, he received many honors. He was buried in Poet’s Corner, in Westminster Abbey. It was as a poet that he wished to be remembered, but today critics regard his novels as his most memorable contribution to English literature for their psychological insight, decisive delineation of character, and profound presentation of tragedy.

Kristin Brady taught English at the University of Western Ontario. She edited The Withered Arm and Other Stories for Penguin Classics.

Great Collection
By Bill R. Moore
Thomas Hardy is best known for novels and poems but was also one of England's best short story writers. Besides mastering the form itself, Hardy used short stories as a training ground for themes and plot devices that often ended up in the novels, making them all the more interesting for fans and scholars. This has nine stories spread over about 350 pages - about a sixth of his total -, including some of his best and best-known. The selection is strong and representative, proceeding chronologically from Hardy's first published story until 1888's Wessex Tales, his first collection. Fans of the novels will certainly want these, but whether they will want this collection is an open question, as most of the stories are widely available. One plus is that it has two - "Destiny and a Blue Cloak" and "The Thieves Who Couldn't Help Sneezing" that are hard to find. They are very early and minor, but fans will certainly appreciate them. Perhaps more importantly, there is a wealth of bonus material: a general introduction stating the purpose of this Penguin Hardy series; a Hardy chronology; a map of Hardy's fictional Wessex; a scholarly introduction with substantial background on the stories and some critical analysis; suggestions for further reading; a history of the texts; detailed endnotes; a history of Hardy short stories; the original illustrations; and a glossary illuminating the heavy use of dialect and other unusual words. Those wanting more stories must of course look elsewhere, but one would have to search very hard for one of comparable length with as much bonus material. One oddity is that, in contrast to nearly all editions, the texts are from first volume publication rather than final edits. This may deter some, but hard-cores and scholars will probably welcome the distinction, and the notes in any event detail changes.

The stories vary in quality and significance. "Destiny" is Hardy's first real published story and is in many ways the blueprint for not only later short stories but much of his other work. Like more famous work, it has a female protagonist and focuses on forbidden love, but it is truly remarkable how many themes and philosophical concerns later fleshed out are already here. Hardy's interest in fate, chance, irony, and the universe's profound indifference toward humanity are on clear display. Much of the characterization and strong sense of place he became known for are also present. So is Hardy's penchant for complex plots; it is near-astonishing how much he could pack into a short work. This is also a good example of how he used shorts to test elements for novels, as he reused the major plot twist in his novel The Hand of Ethelberta. "Destiny" may lack the grand, tragic sweep of Hardy's best work but certainly has it in embryo; this would be one of most writers' best pieces.

A children's story with an obvious moral and some humor, "The Thieves" is probably the most light-hearted work from a writer synonymous with dark ones. It has little in common with his other fiction and is almost certainly his least significant, but fans will still enjoy it, and those who do not normally like Hardy may well appreciate the interesting variation on a standard template.

"The Distracted Preacher" is one of Hardy's best shorts. The profound sense of place so prevalent in the novels is here in strong force, as he makes the rural coastal setting seem to truly come alive. The plot is also one of his most conventionally exciting, full of mystery and suspense involving the smuggling trade he had heard much about from relatives. The story explores several characteristic major themes; for example, it has perhaps Hardy's subtlest and most ambiguous depiction of rural poverty's consequences and variously examines his lifelong interest in religion and preachers. Many of his views were far ahead of his time, as this dramatization clearly shows. The preacher's conventional morality is contrasted with bold practicality, implicitly questioning much that Victorians took for granted. The ending made it seem palatable but now comes off as distinctly pat, especially to those aware of Hardy's true sympathies. He later admitted that he felt pressured to make it conventional in order to be published and described his far more appropriate chosen ending, thankfully given in the notes.

"Fellow-Townsmen" is probably Hardy's short masterpiece, great enough to justify purchasing the book for it alone. Though only fifty pages, it has the characterization, plot complexity, and thematic depth of most novels and reads much like one. Fans will indeed see several similarities to various Hardy novels, as this vein is so rich he drew on it more than once. Remarkably for such a short work, the story has some of his most memorable characters and scenes. There is a tone of intense drama throughout, and this is one of Hardy's most emotional works - which truly says much. More importantly and notably, Hardy's concern with fate and coincidence so melodramatically ironic that it seems malevolent is at full strength. The story abounds with missed opportunities and regrets, showing the dark sides of love and the human condition. The grand, sweeping feel of immense tragedy that pervades his greatest novels is here, and the town's vivid portrayal is on par with better-known settings. Simply put, the work's greatness is such that Hardy would have to be called a great writer of short stories even if this were his only one.

"The Three Strangers" is likely Hardy's most famous short story, so popular that he turned it into a one-act play decades later. However, I do not think it is one of his best and regret that it overshadows greater work. It is enjoyable to be sure - deftly plotted and superbly executed - but lacks the vibrant dramatization of weighty themes that characterizes his best work, relying primarily on a clever plot twist. Still, the opening has some of Hardy's most unforgettable prose, the suspense is unusually high, and the plot can perhaps be seen as a more conventionally exciting depiction of his central concerns. This is another that those who do not usually like Hardy may especially enjoy.

"The Romantic Adventures of a Milkmaid" is of novella length, another great work and one that probably influenced the novels more than any other short story. It is in many ways a prototype for Tess of the D'Urbervilles and the contemporaneous short stories in A Group of Noble Dames, not least in its female protagonist. Hardy portrays farm labor's harsh reality with stunning realism, and the contrast with rich society life is movingly striking. However, the story also has obvious fairy tale elements; this combination and the intermediate length make it unique. It is on one level among Hardy's most affecting and thought-provoking rural poverty depictions, but there are many other dark elements. Its portrayal of love as an essentially self-destructive force leading to hopeless obsession anticipates his late novelistic masterpieces, and the ambiguous Baron is one of Hardy's most fascinating characters. He is in one sense a hedonistic creature of almost pure, even archetypal, evil like Desperate Remedies' Aeneas Manston or Tess' Alec D'Urberville, yet deep melancholy and a tragic nature make him sympathetic. The plot is deliberately one of Hardy's least realistic, but the symbolism - not least in regard to class issues - inherent in his encounters with the milkmaid is patent, and the tackling of higher themes is well-executed. Like Paula Power in A Laodicean, the Baron's nature is essentially ambivalent, and so is the story's conclusion. Hardy later significantly revised it, but this tantalizing yet undeniably appealing quality remained. This is in many ways one of his most subtly complex works and also one of his most overlooked.

"Interlopers at the Knap" is a minor story covering very familiar Hardy territory, but an exquisitely drawn setting and fine characterization make it very readable. We get yet another sympathetic heroine, and the story makes a push for female independence in an area where they had little. Regret and missed opportunities are again ubiquitous, though the plot and conclusion are less dark than many other works', and the strong protagonist's ironclad will recalls more famous Hardy female leads. In contrast to prior works like Far from the Madding Crowd, though, the ending does not bow to convention, making this a near-inversion of typical Victorian courtship stories and thus more interesting and complex than it may first seem.

"The Waiting Supper" is far more substantial - indeed, a near-masterpiece. Many elements again recall other works, but this wayward love is so movingly and believably depicted that the story is one of Hardy's most pathos-drenched. Place and characterization are superb as always, and the plot is one of the most adventurous and suspenseful among Hardy shorts. The story is another ambiguity exercise, particularly the ending, and the depiction of happy marriage as near-unattainable is characteristic of later Hardy fiction. This is a work that first seems conceived only to bring tears - which it likely will -, but the ambivalent conclusion is quite thought-provoking. "The Waiting" again essentially inverts the Victorian love template, but Hardy lets us decide if the ambivalent outcome is the best possibility.

"The Withered Arm" rivals "Fellow-Townsmen" as Hardy's best short work; though lacking the latter's novelistic sweep, it is more tightly written and thus a better success in pure short story terms. This may even be Hardy's most superbly plotted and masterfully executed tale of all; the mysterious and foreboding threads coalesce in a dark, seemingly inevitable ending exemplifying Hardy's cruel fate twists. It does not take on grand concerns to the extent most of his best work does but is in many ways one of his bleakest stories; its vision of humanity headed toward a tragic end with little or no control over events is unforgettable. Hardy's best novels are replete with such drama, but no prior short story conveyed it so fully or well. "The Withered" is also an appropriate close for the book, being in many ways the culmination of Hardy's fiction to that point. It is one of his few works to have central scenes in both Casterbridge - the largest town in Wessex - and the surrounding countryside, while the cast of milkmaids, hanging judges, wronged women, and nervous new wives seems to have stepped out of a myriad Hardy stories. Not least interestingly, though much of Hardy's work is steeped in rural Southwest England folklore, this is virtually his only fiction with a strong supernatural element. His editor and friend Leslie Stephen criticized the element's ambiguity, saying he was unsure whether to believe or not, but this was surely Hardy's point; he again lets us judge. Far more important in any case are the dark forces at the story's heart - forces that soon dominated the little fiction he had left to write.

This brings up one of the book's most important virtues - it leads to other Hardy fiction, particularly his overlooked short works. Readers must choose how they want to read the stories, but they should certainly be read. Though less important and acclaimed than his novels, they are an essential part of his genius and will delight fans of the longer works.

A Story Of Courage and Strength
By PL Goodwin
First, let's look at some facts.

Fact:
A report of child abuse is made every ten seconds. More than five children die every day as a result of child abuse. Approximately 80% of children that die from abuse are under the age of 4. It is estimated that between 50-60% of child fatalities due to maltreatment are not recorded as such on death certificates. More than 90% of juvenile sexual abuse victims know their perpetrator in some way. Child abuse occurs at every socioeconomic level, across ethnic and cultural lines, within all religions and at all levels of education. About 30% of abused and neglected children will later abuse their own children, continuing the horrible cycle of abuse. About 80% of 21 year old that were abused as children met criteria for at least one psychological disorder. The estimated annual cost of child abuse and neglect in the United States for 2008 is $124 billion. (childhelp.org).

Fact:
A total of 2,039 suspects were prosecuted for Federal sex offenses in 2006, representing about 2.5% of the 83,148 suspects prosecuted in Federal courts. The main sex exploitation offense referred to U.S. attorneys shifted from sex abuse (73%) in 1994 to child pornography (69%) in 2006. Convicted sex offenders sentenced to prison increased from 81% in 1996 to 96% in 2006. (Bureau of Justice statistics.gov).

Fact:
According to the World Health Organization, up to 53,000 children are murdered worldwide each year. 1.8 million are involved in prostitution or pornography and 1.2 million have been trafficked. (U.S. Department of Health and Human Services: Administration for Children & Families. Child Maltreatment 2011.)

Fact: 797,500 children (younger than 18) were reported missing in a one year period of time in America, resulting in an average of 2,185 children being reported missing EACH DAY. (The Center for Missing and Exploited Children 2012).

Fact:
Abused children all learn early to keep their mouths shut. They are told that they will not be believed, that their friends, siblings or families will die if they tell, etc.

Fact:
Those who do survive adapt through various ways: dissociation, acceptance, daydreaming, denial.

Fact:
Those who die are never able to tell their story.

Fact:
Those who live through the abuse either bury the memories through dissociation, become abusers themselves, or live in fear of their abusers.

Fact:
Dissociative Identity Disorder remains a recognized disorder (DSM-IV-TR - American Psychiatric Association).

Fact:
Once in awhile a brave survivor does tell their story of abuse. In the face of adversity - the skeptics, the abusers, the pedophiles - all there waiting to pounce, to create the very reality of her biggest fear - 'no one will believe you'..

Jenny Hill is one of those survivors. This book tells her life as not only an abused child, but a survivor. It is not an easy story to read - nor, easy to believe. As a society, we want so desperately to hold onto the belief that there is some semblance of humanity in every parent - even in every abuser. In this case, there is not.

The book begins with Jenny Hill's dedication to the child she witnessed being murdered, "may those screams give children of abuse courage to break their silence." Reading this, all survivors 'hear' the screams of fear inside of the constant threat, "Don't tell." Jenny then shares a poem of her healing journey. The foreword is written by Colin A. Ross, M.D., acclaimed writer and researcher - writing over 130 professional papers and 17 books o this subject. Next, we meet the 22 alters of Jenny Hill, how and when they were formed and their jobs to keep the child alive.

From there, we move into the body of the book, the chapters divided 'journal style' beginning when Jenny Hill was age 5 until she is age 27. It begins in a narrative style, descriptive of the young 5 year old struggling to keep track of time, as she is being r*ped by her father, as well as two neighbor boys who live down the street - they later arrested for their activities. She is then put through brainwashing by a man she describes as Dr. Green in preparation for a Black Sabbath type ceremony where she recalls many people watching. Here horrible abuse is described as well as the murder of a young, kidnapped girl.

As we read, we realize that no one could process much less bear this amount of continuous and painful trauma. Jenny 'adapts' to the drama by dissociating the experiences - dividing them between different alters. The author, Judy Byington, M.S.W., L.C.S.W does a good job describing Jenny's life as a multiple, as she struggles with lost time and identity confusion which causes her loss of employment, moving in and out of dangerous relationships and years of more abuse.

During all of this, Jenny continues to try to reconnect with her sexually abusive father and emotionally abusive mother - one of the saddest parts of the book - the reality that everyone 'needs' the love of parents, the thought that possibly they 'really' do care, despite the abuse. Jenny's father does allow her to come back, but only for his benefit - to make sure that his daughter remains silenced through the brainwashing.

She is finally institutionalized during a job interview when her switching became evident to her interviewer. This is one of the most interesting parts of the book, where journals she wrote while there are shared. And, she begins to remember the abuse. She leave the hospital after about a year's stay.

Byington then gives us an overview of the book, as well as valuable resources about mind control, satanic ritual abuse, and dissociative identity disorder. Studies include neurological explanations of how the brain reacts to brainwashing an trauma as well as to why dissociated memories are so clear. She questions, in this day and age and with so much available evidence, why anyone would continue to defend a stand that satanic ritual abuse, brainwashing, and dissociative identity disorder doesn't exist. Lastly, we read about the author who leaves us with some 60+ sources.

This book 'is' an example of a girl - Jenny Hill - beyond courageous. She was able to find the identity of the girl whose murder she witnessed. She now spends her time helping others in any way that she can. She is not a girl out to make a buck on a book. Any survivor would tell you that it just isn't worth it.

When you finish this book, it is obvious that the purpose of writing this book is to inform the public - open some eyes - to the horrible abuse that happens. To hear the cries of the survivors who have the courage to break their silence.

I am one of those survivors also - and, thank you for reading this and understanding the plight that we all face.

I find the unbelievers and skeptics more dangerous than the perpetrators of these acts. You only allow these horrid things to go on by not accepting that they are real. As for the Dr Phil show, read this letter written by Jenny to the show which states the author of the book was never her therapist. So many negative reviews for the wrong reasons are amazing to read. Here is the letter:
Open Letter to Dr. Phil From Jenny Hill
Judy Byington and I have been close friends for 20 years. She has been my confidant and dearest friend. She and her husband have adopted me as part of their family and I feel they are my family. I trust Judy completely. She listens to me when I hurt and need consolation. Judy has given me her time, love, acceptance, money, food, bought me glasses, clothing and on occasions even provided me a place to live.
At no time has she ever tried to take advantage of me. Without Judy’s love and concern over the years I might not be alive today.
Judy has not been my therapist as they said on the Dr. Phil show. I have a therapist at Wasatch Mental Health. My other therapist was Dr. Weston Whatcott at the Utah State Psychiatric Hospital who was one of a team of mental health professionals who diagnosed me with Multiple Personality Disorder now known as Dissociate Identity Disorder. That was ten years before I met Judy.
Early in my life I decided I wanted to have my biography written to help other victims of the horrible abuse I suffered as a child. I asked Judy to write my biography. It was my decision to deliberately bring some of my parts forward so Judy could meet them. Last August at the request of producers at the Dr. Phil show, Judy and I taped my alters taking over.
I understand that after the Dr. Phil show aired some people may have the impression that I would not receive a profit from the sale of my biography,”Twenty-Two Faces.” That is not true.
I am fully capable of making my own decisions and if I wanted to set up a bank account for monies received from the sales of my book I could and would do so. It has been my decision not to set up an account at this time. Judy and I haven’t talked much about profits from the book because it has yet to make a profit. I have told Judy I don’t want to make money off “Twenty-Two Faces” but wish my share of profits to go toward helping victims of ritual abuse. That has been the goal of both Judy and myself since we started writing the book 20 years ago. It’s not about the money. It’s about being able to help ritual abuse survivors.
Another concern has been the contract I signed with Judy giving her copyright to my story. I agreed to sign the contract knowing this was because our literary agent required my and Judy’s literary, electronic and film rights to the story in order to present the book to publishers. I made this decision myself, knowing exactly what I was doing. I took my time to think and pray about this and when I signed the agreement I did so of my own volition and was not manipulated into doing it.
I also want to make it clear that I have multiple personalities or DID. Most of the time I am in complete control of myself but occasionally one of my alters will take over and do something which I am not aware of. I can’t remember doing it and I can’t help that. I am moving forward with my life one day at a time and making progress.
I understand the following is a statement about me written by my sister Susan. It is taken from my son Robert’s blog on the internet..
“She has confided in me on numerous occasions that Judy Byington has manipulated and used her. I have a recently-recorded phone message from Jenny stating that she does not condone what Judy has done with her life story. She has been repeatedly lied to and has been harassed so much by Judy that her case worker at Wasatch Mental put a restraining order against her (Judy). Jenny complained that she wants some help to get away from Judy so that she might tell her own version, but Judy holds the copyright to her life story, and she (Jenny) legally can’t speak out. ….”
I cannot remember calling Susan and saying these things, nor would I even think of saying something like this.
It is common for me to get depressed. In December I checked myself into inpatient care and told my caseworker that no one was to know where I was including the only two people who I have regular contact with, my son Robert and Judy.
I do not believe Judy has manipulated and used me. I do not believe Judy has ever lied to me. Judy has never harassed me. I did not ask my caseworker to file a restraining order against Judy. I do not want any help to get away from Judy. I certainly do not want to write another version of my story. It took Judy and I 20 years to write “Twenty-Two Faces.” I don’t want to do that again. Judy has never said I can’t speak out about my life story. In fact, Judy encourages me to speak about it and has given me opportunities to do so.
I asked Judy to write my biography. We wrote it together. We outlined what was to be in each chapter and then I wrote out the chapters. Sometimes my alters would take over and write their feelings in the chapters. The book was taken from those writings, those in my diaries and my writings at the Utah State Hospital.
I completely agree with my life history as it is written by Judy in “Twenty-Two Faces.”
I stated on the Dr. Phil show that it was hard for me to read the book. And it is. I read a little bit and then have to put it down because my childhood is very traumatic and reading about it brings back bad memories. That doesn’t mean that I don’t know what’s in my biography because I do. I lived it. I helped write it.
Because of the time restraints of a TV show like Dr. Phil I didn’t have the opportunity to say everything I wanted to say.
This is my statement and no one else’s.

Notice the vast polarity in the reviews, this is common
By Mikhayla
Here is a study you can do on your own. Research any book with the topic of ritual abuse on Amazon. You will find that in virtually every case the reviews are extremely polarized. I have found that"debunkers" are not beyond lying about the content of the books, especially the very first memoir, "Michelle Remembers". This is because there is an active propaganda effort to discount the existance of ritual abuse. The organization responsible for ritual abuse has "Top Secret" resouces, but they are NOT the "global elite". Jenny Hills story is a must read for putting together the facts. The international issue of ritual abuse has consistent features. Dr. Greenbaum is an extremely common "programmer", along with Dr. Mengele and others. Jenny's depiction of Dr. Geenbaum is impecable. These Doctors are Nazi War criminals. There is every reason to believe that ritual abuse is the result of the C.I.A.'s MKULTRA program turned organized crime. It is common for survivors of generational ritual abuse to have parents in the military. If you would like to start the study of "Who Done It" regarding ritual abuse then "The Search for the Manchurian Candidate" by John Marks is the absolute ritual abuse 101 first read.
Jenny Hill deserves the greatest respect and admiration. She has survived to tell the tale. She is a POW providing inside information that is vital to our understanding of the organized underground criminal organization that effects us all. The ending explains a great deal about how this organization works. Staging is a common factor in these elaborate rituals. The sacrifical ceremony described by Jenny Hill is a facinating look at staging. There are survivor accounts that have intentionally been published that are no brainer debunkable, and do not even depict ritual abuse, they are an insulting mockery. Jenny Hill's account is not one of them. In fact 22 faces is classic. It is consistant in every way. I highly recommend 22 faces if you are studying ritual abuse.
